St Augustine’s College is first and foremost a Catholic school for boys in the Augustinian tradition. We aim to assist young men in learning how to live with others and to arm students with the skills and a sense of responsibility to make their world a better place. With care, compassion and understanding as our hallmark qualities, we guide students as they grow in their faith, to help them to find purpose and meaning by engaging them to make gospel values real in their lives.

A distinctive feature of the College is the strong sense of community spirit that unites staff, students and families. The enthusiasm displayed by staff and the boys pervades all areas of the College community and sets the tone for a lively, stimulating and happy environment.

St Augustine’s College prides itself on being an all-inclusive school where boys of varying abilities are given the opportunity to achieve to their full potential. While espousing the value of hard work, it does not translate into the College being all about winning, success and triumph at all costs, or that it celebrates only those who achieve highly. The College aspires to develop young men who have a love of learning, who work both autonomously and collaboratively, who are intellectually curious while being critical, independent thinkers. We are passionate about rigour and high achievement and work hard to create a culture of learning and respect.  A vital part of education provided at St Augustine’s College involves instilling in the boys personal attributes such as responsibility, independence, resilience, concern, and strong moral values. Respect is an integral part of the fabric of St Augustine’s College. There are a myriad of opportunities for the boys at the College, and all boys are respected regardless of their area of interest, whether it be academic, sporting or cultural; in most cases, it is a rich combination of at least two, if not three, of these areas.

We believe an education that does not challenge, is an exercise in mediocrity. We aim to provide many opportunities for young men to take risks, to face challenging and perhaps life-altering experiences; experiences that challenge boys to broaden their horizons and extend themselves beyond their perceived capabilities.

The boys are the heart of everything we do at St Augustine’s College and we value each boy’s time with us. Their time here is a journey based on Catholic values in the traditions of Saint Augustine; one full of energy and diversity; one that unearths interests and talents; and one we believe leaves boys as happy, well-adjusted, contributing members of their community, who are able to make the world a better place.
