Running Club

Welcome all students and families to St Augustine's Running Club.

The aim of the Running Club will be to introduce middle and long distance running to all students from the under 10's in year 5 to the senior students of the College.

The emphasis of the Running Club this year will first and foremost focus on boys who are interested in keeping fit and improving their running techniques, as well as training the boys for the upcoming College Cross Country Carnival (26th February) and the ISA Cross Country Carnival (19th March).

The Running Club will train terms 1, 2 and 3 with the Primary Athletics Carnival (3rd June), Secondary Athletics Carnival (23rd June) and ISA Athletics Carnival (6th September) being the main focus of the Running Club in terms 2 and 3. The College has also been invited to attend several high quality Athletics Carnivals with other CAS schools (27th August, 3rd September). All boys interested in participating in any of these events are encouraged to join the running club.

Training times will be Monday and Wednesday 3:30pm-4:30pm commencing Monday 22nd February.

Boys are asked to train in suitable running clothes (preferably not College PE uniform or College uniform). College running shorts are available for purchase from the College uniform shop. Singlets for competitions will be provided by the college. The Running Club will meet at the College with most training sessions being held in or around the College. Other areas will be used for longer runs, such as Brookvale Oval, local stairs and local streets. Nolans Reserve and various local beaches will also be used as training areas to assist the boys with their running.
