The Role
You will play a central role in maintaining and enhancing systems, including those used for telephony, security, surveillance, vape sensors, server room infrastructure, hosting and application backups.
You will also assist the IT helpdesk team, which are focused on providing support to teachers and students around day-to-day technical issues including help with application usage, networking onboarding and staffing on the IT helpdesk.
As our Campus Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and maintaining the health and performance of servers both on premise and cloud hosted.
- Configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Cloudworks, which is used for Identity and Access Management including Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Overseeing the operation and maintenance of CCTV cameras and campus surveillance systems.
- Managing security infrastructure, including alarms and access control systems (Integrity).
- Monitoring and supporting vape and heat detection technologies (HALO).
- Administering the telephony environment, including Mitel servers and handset deployments (a project to deliver telephony via MS teams is schedule for later this year).
- Managing essential campus systems such as web filtering and related services.
- Continuously reviewing and improving processes for managing and maintaining school systems.
- Leading the configuration and customisation of systems to meet the unique needs of the College.
- Providing ICT support to teaching and support staff for day-to-day technical issues.
- Delivering helpdesk services for students and staff as part of the IT support team.
To be considered for this opportunity you will have:
- Diploma/Advanced Diploma in IT (or equivalent) plus 3-5 years hands-on sysadmin/support experience.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
- Demonstrated experience administering Windows server environments on-prem and/or cloud hosted
- ITIL® 4 Foundation or equivalent IT service management experience
- Desirable qualification - Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800 / AZ-801)
