St Augustine's College is currently hiring for a range of internship positions, to join our team in January 2023.

Our Internships

The St Augustine’s College Internship offers upcoming Graduate Teachers a structured one-year program that provides Interns the opportunity to:

  • Develop their pedagogical approach and capability by working in partnership with our diverse mix of experienced and passionate teachers
  • Develop a working understanding of school culture and work life including participation in wellbeing and pastoral programs, professional learning, career coaching, and co-curricular opportunities
  • Have a genuine blend of development and practical application through observations and feedback, mentoring and team teaching.
  • Earn an income whilst gaining practical and relevant on-the-job experience. Applicants with availability from 0.2FTE to 0.6FTE will be considered and will receive a generous rate of pay, based on their FTE
  • Engage in the completion of study through flexible work hours, inclusive of examination leave
  • Learn and grow within a caring and supportive professional community
  • Participate in co-curricular with the opportunity to receive an honorarium payment
  • Graduate university with the potential for a job offer


To be eligible to apply for a St Augustine’s College Internship you need to:

  • Be undertaking your final year of study in 2023
  • Be undertaking either a Combined Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or a Master of Teaching (Secondary) in any of the below subject areas:
    • Mathematics
    • Science
    • English
    • HSIE
    • Religious Education
    • Engineering
    • Technological and Applied Studies
  • Have a strong academic record in their relevant studies
  • Have, or be able to obtain, a NESA number (conditional teacher)
  • Have, or be able to obtain, a NSW Working with Children Clearance
