About the Role
The College is seeking a Science Laboratory Assistant to join our Science Faculty on a permanent, full-time basis, working during school term time only (approximately 38 weeks per year).
This is a hands-on and rewarding role suited to someone who enjoys working in a dynamic school environment and supporting high-quality science learning through safe, well‑organised laboratories.
As a valued member of the Science Faculty, you will work closely with teaching staff to ensure practical lessons are well prepared, laboratories are maintained to a high standard, and safety is at the forefront of all activities.
As a member of our team, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting teaching and learning within the Science Faculty
- Preparing and setting up practical experiments and materials for lessons
- Assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of Science laboratories
- Maintaining and ordering equipment, chemicals and sundry supplies
- Coordinating and supporting the work of a part-time Laboratory Assistant
- Maintaining laboratories, equipment, chemicals and resources
- Working collaboratively with Science teachers, including in-class support when required
- Ensuring WHS requirements are met or exceeded at all times
- Actively promoting a safe and organised laboratory environment
About You:
- Relevant qualifications in Science, a science-related degree, or Laboratory Technician qualifications
- Experience in a similar laboratory or school-based role (highly regarded)
- A strong, practical commitment to laboratory safety and WHS standards
- The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, colleagues and support staff
- A willingness to contribute positively to a faith-based school community
- A genuine commitment to child safety and wellbeing
- An interest in ongoing professional development
