Students were invited to apply for a position in the Student Representative Council. Many applications were received from worthy nominees wishing to develop their leadership skills and proactively address school initiatives and student issues.
Congratulations to the 24 students who were elected and officially presented to the school community at this week’s College Assembly.
The SRC members have already embraced their responsibilities and started to attend regular meetings with staff representatives Alexandra Davis, Amelia Granturco and Melinda Eckford.
The students wrote a recount from their recent meeting below:
“In our last SRC meeting, we split into groups to discuss various issues which included; Bus routes, the environment, the school jumpers and pastoral periods for Years 10, 11 & 12.
We are currently looking at particular bus routes such as the one from Curl Curl which we feel could be more direct to St Augustine’s and options for boys who don’t have a school bus route. We want to see more recycling bins in the school and will start encouraging students to buy reusable products. We also have a team looking at redesigning the green school jumper.
Overall it was a very productive meeting. All groups are going to work on their requests extensively.”
