Year 7

21 June 2018

There are three students studying Music Extension this year and each has chosen a different elective, either in Composition, Performance or Musicology. The efforts our three dedicated students have displayed throughout the course to date has been impressive and their individual projects are really taking shape.
As part of his Elective Performance studies, Callum Hulme is required to organize and present a formal recital of his HSC pieces. Callum and the Music Faculty warmly invite you to his Music Extension Performance Recital, which will be held 6.30-7.15pm on Wednesday 27 June. A special invitation is extended to all Elective Music students, who will no doubt learn a great deal and be inspired by the high standard of the performance. For those who do not know, Callum is our College Music Captain and his main instrument is the drum kit. He will be presenting a variety of Jazz and fusion pieces for the recital, with accompaniments by no fewer than 12 professional musicians.
Advanced notice that the next Year 11 Music 1 Soiree will take place on Tuesday 14 August (Week 4, Term 3). Students are required to play a piece representing either the topic, ‘Theatre Music (Musical Theatre focus)’ or ‘Music for radio, film, TV and multimedia’.
