Cricket continues this weekend (29 October) before breaking for the holidays and then resuming on 20th October and going through to the 15th December. Players should ensure that they are available for their games close to holidays.

CRICKET TRIVIA NIGHT
Coming up this Friday 28 September, the St Augustine's College Cricket Club will be hosting its annual Trivia Night here in the Brimson Centre from 7pm. All teams are encouraged to get a table together for this fun filled night. Not all the trivia will be about cricket! Check out the flyer in this edition of the Tolle Lege. We will also be drawing our 50/50 cash raffle on the night – someone will win over $1000 cash on the night!
CRICKETER OF THE WEEK
Well done to U14 Gold batsman Andrew Boulton who scored 86* on Saturday Cromer Park against Collaroy Plateau. Coming in at No 3, Andrew hit 16 fours in his mature innings which gave his side a sniff of an outright win before time ran out. Andrew is a new student to the college in Year 7 2019 and is already making waves among his teammates with his cricketing ability. Well done Andrew!
OLD BOYS REPRESENTING NSW IN THE JLT CUP
Last week, two old boys Jack Edwards and his brother Mickey both represented NSW in the JLT One Day Cup at the WACA ground in Perth. Jack made 42 on debut – with a towering six over mid-wicket – the highlight of his innings. He was again in the action on Sunday at North Sydney Oval against Victoria – this time opening the batting. Great to see these old boys on the big stage!
Saints stroll through to Mark Taylor Shield quarter finals in style
The St Augustine's College Mark Taylor Shield cricket team won through to the quarter finals today after taking on Our lady of Lourdes, Seven Hills in the 3rd round match. Batting first, Saints reached 4/212 off 30 overs with no less than 5 batsmen reaching 30 runs. In reply, a wicket on the first ball of the OLOR innings to Nick Varano set the tone for what was to come. Tight bowling and excellent fielding saw the hosts rolled for just 88 with leg spinner Gus Anderson taking 7 for 11 off 4 overs – one of those overs he took 5 wickets and a hattrick! Great work Saints!
