GOAL KEEPER TRAINING CONTINUES
Each Wednesday afternoon on the College Oval, old boy Ryan McLean offers goalkeeper training to all the College’s teams. Commencing at 3:40pm, the hour long sessions are great for new or experienced ‘keepers.
I still have a lost pair of ‘keeping gloves that was left behind by one of the players. Please contact me if you have misplaced yours.
PLAYERS ATTIRE – uniform
It has become apparent that some players are wearing incorrect uniform (ie black sport shorts and not the correct green football shorts) or socks that don’t fit correctly or have been washed that many times, they are the wrong colour. Taking the field in the correct football uniform shows pride in the school and lifts the team spirit.
Similarly, many players are arriving at their grounds in alternative jackets and hoodies and not the St Augustine's sports jacket. Players should not be doing this and parents should not let it happen. Please ensure your match day preparations entail having the correct uniform ready to go.
HOLIDAY GAMES
Many games over the June long weekend were cancelled or postponed due to ground closures. This means that games will potentially be made up midweek or on Sundays over the next few weeks. Please check the MWFA Website closely and plan for postponed games to be played soon. Last minute time and ground changes do happen so please continually check. Teams can expect games throughout the holidays, so please plan ahead and ensure you advise your team manager if you will be away. Teams that are short may borrow players from other teams and age groups, so players that are available should help out where possible.
VILLANOVA FOOTBALL MATCH
The 2018 Villanova College v St Augustine's College Football match will be on this Thursday night, 28th June at Cromer Park #1, kicking off at 6:00pm. All Saints footballers are encouraged to come along and see our First XI in action in what will be a great game.
