PRIMARY FOOTBALLERS STILL WANTED – U11 and U12

Any Year 5 or Year 6 student who missed out on grading or now thinks he might like to play Football this season, please contact me via email.  There is space for players in both these age groups, so please don’t delay if you are keen for a run this season.  I have space in both U11 and U12 age groups  

PRE-SEASON FOOTBALL TRIAL GAMES

We have been fortunate to secure trial games for ALL St Augustine's College Football teams on either Saturday 24^th or Sunday 25^th March at Passmore Reserve.  Please see the draw in this edition of the Tolle Lege. 

Saturday 24 March - Passmore Field 1 (centre pitch)

Saturday 24 March - Passmore Field 2 (pitch closest to units)

Sunday 25 March - Passmore Field 1 (centre pitch)

Sunday 25 March - Passmore Field 2 (pitch closest to units)

The First round of the MWFA season will commence after the Easter long weekend on Saturday 7 April.  

COACHING AND MANAGING OF TEAMS

Twenty nine teams representing St Augustine’s College will take the field in the MWFA competition this year.  Whilst staff are encouraged to commit to the co-curricular programme, the College relies heavily on parent volunteers for coaching and managing of its teams.  Should you be able to assist, please let me know and I will advise if your son's team is in need of help.  The commitment is one training (minimum) a week (usually after school) and of course the Saturday game.  All training equipment will be provided for coaches, and manager duties involve team communication of any information as well as Saturday morning pre-match checking of digital Team Sheets via the new MWFA game day App.

This year the MWFA will be hosting its very own Community Coaching Expo at Cromer Park on Thursday 22nd March 6pm-8:30pm. The Expo will be a showcase of all things football coaching and will give coaches of all levels, age groups and qualifications something to walk away with to boost their confidence for the upcoming season, teach them something new or simply reaffirm the great work that they are currently doing.   

Coaches of all levels and age groups are invited to attend on the 22nd March from U6 first time coaches to Senior Premier League coaches and everything in-between!   

TRAININGS

Once all teams have a coach and manager appointed, I can begin to allocate training days and venues.

We have Passmore Reserve (Mon – Fri), Graham Reserve (Mon & Wed), Nolan Reserve (Tue & Thurs) and Millers Reserve (allocation TBC).  With cricket coming to an end, trainings will start to be more consistent.  

PLAYING UNIFORM
The playing uniform (dark green football socks and shorts, and gold playing shirt) is now available from the College Uniform Shop. All players must have the correct uniform, including their own playing shirt if in age groups 11’s – 15’s. The 16’s and 18’s will have their playing shirt provided by team managers.  

The MWFA has voted that all players in all teams must have a numbered shirt this season.  Team managers are asked to collect the entire teams' shirts and I will have them numbered in one go, then return them to you.  It is a logistical nightmare to co-ordinate this, so please be patient as this is carried out.

REFEREES COURSE

The MWFRA will be running a parent referee course on Wednesday 28 March @ Cromer Park Clubhouse - 101 South Creek Road, Dee Why commencing at 7:30pm

This course is free of charge and registration is not required.
