Parent Invitation - Plenary Council 2020
Once again we would like to extend an invitation to the College community to participate in the Plenary Council 2020.
The Australian Catholic Bishops have called a Plenary council in 2020 to consider the future of the Catholic Church in our country. What is a Plenary council? It is basically a gathering of local churches and church communities to discuss a contemporary topic of importance – in our case - the future of the Catholic Church in Australia.
Every single Catholic community; church, school, religious group, volunteer groups, parents, students, are invited to be involved and to share their thoughts on this topic. As an Augustinian College, we are getting involved by holding a variety of listening sessions where we can consider, reflect and dialogue on the future of the church in Australia.
We invite the parents of our College to have a voice in this important discussion as we focus on the key question;
What do you think God is asking of us in Australia at this time?
If you would like to be a part of this significant process, and can spare one hour of your time, please reply to Simon Hyland – Leader of Liturgy and Retreats, Hyland.s@saintaug.nsw.edu.au. We will arrange a suitable day and time to hold the listening session.
