Year 12 Graduation Mass

On Friday afternoon, as part of the Graduation ceremonies, Year 12 students and families were able to celebrate Mass at St Kieran’s Church.  This celebration was a wonderful example of one of our distinct themes of ‘Community’.  Congratulations to our Graduates of 2018.  They have led the College with maturity and pride and as these young men move into the world they go with our prayers. We wish them all well in their future endeavours and can’t wait for them to return back as ‘old boys’ of the College.  Thank you to Celebrants, Fr Senan Ward OSA, and Concelebrant, Fr Paul Maloney OSA and all parents and boys involved in the Mass Ministries.

Senior Retreat (Year 11) – 17 to 19 October

The Year 11 students head off to their final College Retreat during Week 1, Term 4.  Students will travel to six different venues in their House Groups.  This faith formation time will provide the students with a wonderful opportunity to pray and reflect upon their relationship with God and enjoy some much needed ‘downtime’ together.  

Year 8 and Year 9 OEG Camps – Welcome back

Welcome back to our Year 8 and Year 9 campers.  It sounds like the boys from Year 8 and Year 9 all had a fantastic time away.  

“It was with equal parts excitement and nervous energy that the Year 8 boys departed the College for what was for many, their first experience of sleeping in tents and basic cabins in the great outdoors. The three-day camp in the beautiful surrounds of the Southern Highlands at Biloela, presented the boys with challenges from dawn till dusk and it is testament to their commitment that the teachers had the boys view these as opportunities to step out of their comfort zone. The boys’ capacity to dig deep was matched only by the sheer good will of the staff to give of their time away from families to support the boys on this most important aspect of their formation and education at the College. My thanks to all involved in ensuring that by Friday’s end, all boys returned with a sense of pride in what they had achieved and a sense of gratitude to those who supported them away from home.”

“The Year 9 cohort attended their annual camp in Kangaroo Valley last week. The weather and scenery was beautiful with a few boys being able to see their first wombat or wallaby. I was impressed with their sense of adventure and how they persevered through every challenge along the way.”
