Congratulations to the following students who were elected as the 2019 Captains of their respective activities and were presented with their badges at this weeks assembly.
Debating - Montgomery Ravenscroft
- This student has been a dedicated member of the College Debating team since he joined the College in Year 5.
- He is known for his wit, intelligence and critical thinking skills, which are essential characteristics for a debater.
- I look forward to seeing the debating program thrive under this student’s leadership.
Drama - Matthew Lewis
- This student has always been a keen Drama student.
- He has applied himself with diligence to both the academic and co-curricular programs.
- Most recently, he gave incredible support to the Middle School production of ‘One Man Two Guvnors’.
- He helped with stage direction, set construction and production support. In his own right, he is a very capable performer who has held lead roles in major productions including ‘Beauty & The Beast’ and Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’ and a supporting role in ‘In The Heights’. Matthew is also a dedicated servant to ‘Theatresports’.
- This year he was a member of the School’s representative senior Theatresports team and in past years, he has helped coach and mentor junior groups.
- He is a wonderful leader of Drama.
Music - Joel Van Duyl
- This student has grown as a musician during his time at the College.
- Originally a trumpet player, he has increasingly put more focus on his piano playing.
- He currently plays piano in the Stage band and Jazz Ensembles, whilst continuing to play trumpet as a mentor in Concert Band 2.
- A passionate proponent for all areas of music, he has demonstrated a theoretical aptitude for the subject, topping elective music every year.
