Back to back ISA Division One swimming champions!!
On Wednesday 14 March, 23 St Augustine's College swimmers from Years 7-12 were selected to compete in the ISA swimming championships at SOPAC, Homebush.
Of the 50 events in which our boys competed, we placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in 47 events - almost 95% of races! This demonstrates the very strong College teams across all age groups and events, culminating in winning the overall Division One Boys points score for the 2nd year in a row!
Sixteen of our swimmers have been selected to represent the ISA at the next level, NSW CIS on the 4 and 5 April. All our relay teams - Junior, Intermediate and Senior (freestyle and medley) - will also represent our College at NSW CIS. Great job boys, we are very proud of your efforts. Of special mention is 15 year old Tyson Bujak-Upton's record breaking 100m freestyle swim in an amazing time of 53.75 seconds!
Thank you to staff members, Sue Gostelow who worked in the recording room, and Adam Craven who took amazing photos of our swimmers. We also appreciated John Papahatzis, Assistant Principal - Sport and Co-curricular, and Jonathan Byrne, Principal, coming to Homebush to cheer our swimmers to victory.
