Subject Selection

Year 5 and 6 (10–12 years of age) students will become part of our Upper Primary cohort. They learn in a tailored environment featuring collaborative working spaces, specialized Music and Drama rooms, and advanced Science laboratories. A team of expert teachers guides students in becoming confident and successful learners. A designated transition program from Year 6 to High School ensures a smooth and well-prepared progression.

Year 7, 8 and 9 (13–15 years of age) students will become part of our Middle School cohort. We strongly advise students commencing in Year 9 to choose subjects they are currently studying at their existing school.

Year 10, 11 and 12 (16–18 years of age) students will become part of our Senior School cohort. Students can commence in both Years 10 and 11; however, they cannot enroll into Year 12 (unless transferring directly from another school in Australia) as it is a two-year course, of which the Preliminary Course, Year 11, must be completed in order to progress to Year 12.

For more information regarding academic information for international students between Year 7 and 12, visit our Academic Care section.

Students must complete all assessment tasks and examinations in order to progress in their studies. Failure to meet course requirements will require the College to report the matter to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, which may result in the cancellation of their visa.

Course Duration

Primary Program (Years 5–6) offers 104 weeks of engaging learning in modern, collaborative spaces designed to inspire curiosity and confidence.

Students then progress to the Junior Secondary School Course (Years 7–10), a 208-week program that builds strong academic foundations while encouraging personal growth.

The journey culminates in the Senior Secondary School Course (Years 11–12), 104 weeks of focused study preparing students for success in their final examinations and beyond.

Sport & Co-Curricular

Sport plays a fundamental role in the College in producing balanced and well-rounded young men who appreciate hard work and training, commitment to a team, sportsmanship and dedication to fair play. College sports include basketball, football, rugby, and boxing, etc.

Cultural pursuits in music, art, design, drama, chess and debating are a vital part of College life at St Augustine's and provide opportunities for our boys to pursue their creative talents, as well as adding to community experiences within the school.

Please visit the Sport and Co-Curricular section for more information.

Attendance Expectations

The College requires 100% attendance from our students. In order to obey their visa conditions, students must maintain a minimum of 80% attendance.

If a student is ill, they must contact the school to notify their absence and provide a Doctors Certificate upon their return.
