The Role

We are seeking a recent graduate or early-career IT professional to join us as a Database and Integration Engineer on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for someone eager to launch their career in a vibrant school environment, offering the chance to develop new skills, learn from experienced mentors, and progress into a specialist position.

As our Database and Integration Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the administration and optimisation of our SQL Server database
  • Learn to create and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and complex queries.
  • Assist with database performance tuning, backup, and security.
  • Get hands-on experience with integration and automation tools (Workato, PowerShell, APIs).
  • Help ensure data moves accurately and securely between systems.
  • Collaborate with system owners and IT colleagues to improve processes.

To be considered for this opportunity you will have:

  • A degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or nearing completion).
  • Some experience (internships, projects, or coursework) with SQL and scripting.
  • Eagerness to learn PowerShell, APIs, and integration platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to work collaboratively.
  • Commitment to the Catholic and St Augustine's educational values and child safety.
