The Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to join us as a Database and Integration Engineer on a part-time basis. This role is particularly well-suited to someone returning to the workforce or seeking greater work-life balance. The position is approximately three days per week, with flexibility around working arrangements to be discussed in line with the successful applicant’s preferences.

As our Database and Integration Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Take ownership of our SQL Server database environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.
  • Lead the design and delivery of integrations and automations using Workato, PowerShell, and APIs.
  • Optimise database performance, manage backups, and maintain security controls.
  • Collaborate with system owners and vendors to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Support data governance, quality, and compliance with privacy legislation.

To be considered for this opportunity you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Database Administrator or Data Integration Engineer.
  • Strong SQL skills (queries, stored procedures, performance tuning).
  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and API-driven integrations.
  • Experience with enterprise integration platforms (Workato, Boomi, Power Automate) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Analytical, pragmatic, and able to prioritise effectively.
