Welcome to our St Augustine's Medical Page

The health and wellbeing of our students is our priority. To keep them feeling and playing at their best, we offer the below services to all students registered in our Rugby Program.

Sports Physiotherapist

Alison Donnan is an APA Titled Sports Physiotherapist and Director of Bioathletic in Manly.

Alison has long been associated with elite level sport as Head Physio of Manly Rugby Union for many years and traveling with Tongan Rugby Union and Tongan Olympic Team through World Cups and Olympic and Commonwealth Games campaigns.

She has developed her treatment philosophy around treating the body as a whole, not simply focusing on the injured area and attempts to minimise periods of rest on the sidelines wherever possible.

As a Director of Bioathletic, Alison has assembled a team of Allied Health professionals, including Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Massage Therapists and Strength & Conditioning Coaches to create a place where the everyday athlete can receive the same level of care delivered to professional athletes, with the outcome of simply building strong, mobile and bulletproof humans.

Sport & Exercise Physician

Dr. Nicole Sly is a Sport and Exercise Medicine doctor with experience supporting elite athletes at an international level in Rugby Union, Rowing, and Triathlon/Paratriathlon.

She is passionate about applying the skills learned working with these athletes to all her patients, helping them to achieve their personal best. Prior to studying medicine, Nicole worked as a Physiotherapist and believes that an active rehabilitation plan and collaboration with other health professionals and coaches is key to ensuring a smooth recovery and preventing future injury.

Nicole has a particular interest in treating children and adolescents, supporting them to achieve their sporting goals, while considering their future health and wellbeing. An appreciation of the unique needs of children and their families has been gained while working at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead Institute of Sports Medicine (CHISM) and in Paediatric Emergency RNSH.

Nicole currently works with Rugby Union teams in the AAGP and Shute Shield competitions and is researching injury prevention in youth Rugby Union.
