Today, Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent, we as a Catholic community receive ashes on our foreheads as a visual reminder that from ash we came and to ash we go – in other words, this life on earth is singular and fleeting and during Lent as we approach Easter, we are asked to fulfil our Gospel potential - “LOVE and then do what you will”. Today we gather as a Catholic, Augustinian community to receive ashes and then in Tutor Groups during lent we ask all boys to participate in at least one group act of giving and/or fasting.
