We are looking for a permanent Food Services Team Second-in-Charge to work in our commercial kitchen. The College offers a professional and fun team environment with the opportunity to build on your previous hospitality and supervisory experience, or step up to grow your career.

You will be the second-in-charge, working closely with an experienced Food Services Manager, and a team of permanent and casual staff. The canteen provides healthy and nutritious food for our 1500 students and 200 staff, as well as professional catering for all College functions.

Duties include:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the canteen.
  • Food preparation and cooking (training and menus provided)
  • Assisting with menu planning and stock control.
  • Ordering and purchasing.
  • Ensuring health, safety and food hygiene procedures are adhered to.
  • Assisting with staff training and rostering as required.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks including ordering, sourcing suppliers etc.
  • Team management and resourcing as required

Criteria:

  • Passion for hospitality, events & food service
  • A fantastic home cook, with a love of food preparation and cooking
  • Experience in team leadership within a hospitality setting
  • Qualifications in food safety, or willingness to obtain.
  • Positive can-do attitude and forward thinker
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
