In Term 3, Week 3, the College is holding our 7th annual Music Festival. During this week, we are showcasing the musical talents of our students through a variety of activities. These include Rock in the Quad (our battle of the bands), solo instrumental recitals, and several other activities, competitions and events. Stay tuned!
We have now completed the Eisteddfod season. Thank you to all the boys for their concerted effort to learn their parts and be at rehearsal on time, the conductors and teachers for their invaluable guidance and musical/dramatic expertise, and the parents for all those early morning lifts to school and evening pickups at Chatswood and Crows Nest.

5 – 9 August College Music Festival
The College Music Festival Week will be held from Monday 5 to Friday 9 of August. We look forward to the participation of all Saints musicians. Festival events:
Details of Solo Recitals are shown below:
A key event of the College Music Festival is the Solo Recitals, where our private music tuition and elective music students have the opportunity to perform in a formal concert setting. The College has engaged esteemed professionals for the event to provide students with valuable feedback and adjudication in each instrumental and vocal section. It is anticipated that all College musicians will participate in the Solo Recitals, performing an own choice piece and they will be adjudicated in Year Group levels. Solo Recitals will be held 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm on Tuesday 6 August with the following sections being offered:
The Music Faculty is very much looking forward to working with the boys in preparation for this prestigious event. For more information and application forms, please contact Lynne Papahatzis (Music Department Administrative Assistant) lpapahatzis@saintaug.nsw.edu.au.
There are many benefits in playing a musical instrument in human development. Music is an integral part of human life and is a fundamental part of a culture and identity, a creative pursuit which is often performed in a collaborative or ensemble situation. There have been many studies conducted that link music and increased intelligence in students, but this is not the only benefit. In schools, learning an instrument is a discipline in which students simultaneously develop academic capacity, physical ability and social skills.
As we start the new school year, all students are encouraged to take up learning an instrument. Private tuition in most instruments and voice is available at the College. Further information and the enrolment form are available online at - https://atlas.saintaug.nsw.edu.au/Sport-Co-Curricular/Sport-and-Co-curricular-Forms/music-tuition. If you have any questions regarding the Private Music Tuition Program, please contact Alan Caulfield caulfield.a@saintaug.nsw.edu.au or Lynne Papahatzis lpapahatzis@saintaug.nsw.edu.au
